the week in review:
a dozen computers, 100 kids? I don't like those odds. here's what you've been missing on my internet hiatus.
Tuesday: Mardi gras. aka senegalese host families dressing male american study abroad students as senegalese women of varying levels of attractiveness. for some reason, there are no pictures of vidal in a halter top
Wednesday: Islamic conference. aka a room of 20 or so "experts" who like to hear themselves talk. cheers to the venue, resort with a sweet spread at the buffet
Thursday: Karaoke bar downtown. aka janelle and JG doing Madonna's ray of light with French/Algerien pirates and bratt lebanese aristocrats. the hilarity.
Friday: Field trip to turtle island in Rufisque... stressful horsedrawn cart incident (wait, you guys DONT speak french and you DONT know where youre taking us?) that ended in vietnamese food
Saturday/Sunday: adventure in the seerer countryside. very, very beautiful.
And oh yeah! Cross cultural moments #394839 - 590807. And Egypt beat Cameroon and took the african cup. the family was blown.
Wonderful, wonderful pictures are on their way, as soon as the connection stops timing out.
