Semester in Senegal? All fun and games? maybe a little bit. since our "courseload" isn't as heavy, i've been looking for some more substantial things to do:
Being a contributing writer. Are there any magazines interested in Senegalese fashion or a broad abroad? Or do you already have a magazine and you just need someone to make your coffee in the morning and make sure your danish is hot and fresh? Either way, I'm here to help.
Empire des Enfants - local orphanage accepting volunteers. Lady who runs it says the one thing they really need is shoes for all 34 children. I know a bunch of American students relatively rolling in dough. I smell a benefit coming on. It smells like an excuse to throw a party.
And oh yeah, there's always starting our own NGOs- Resolving conflicts between rival silverback gorillas by teaching them American Sign Language
- Salad for orphans
- Orphans for the homeless
- Rehabilitating women who ventured into the workplace and were unsucessful by reintroducing them to the kitchen
- PSP for migrant workers
- Ponies for orphans
- Orphans for ponies
brought to you by Janelle and JG
