Paper is the new Vinyl

@bust_magazine said that on my twitter feed, and I can't get over it. Technology! The most in vogue new vice.

Cross Cultural Moment #0987457 "Yo, you got a facebook or somethin'?"
-- diner patron to his waitress. Whatever happened to phone numbers, or leaving coy notes on your napkins? The greatest thing I've ever seen was fellow waitress receive one from a French, Samantha Ronson-type girl. "To the girl with short hair, from the girl with short hair." But even then she just wanted to be contacted by email.

Cross Cultural Moment #7892613 At the Bruce Springsteen Concert in Greenboro, NC, the happy crowd was glowing with cell phone backlights. The second someone flashes a lighter, everyone around goes apeshit, cowering and protesting. "Put that out! What do you think you're doing?" In another related but not technology-oriented moment, we stumbled upon a restaurant called Biscuitville that has dispensers of everything we loathe to be asked for: hot syrup, sweet tea, scrapple, etc.. I had a delicious country fried steak biscuit, and out of the side dish choices, i picked gravy.

I'm making an effort to blog more. Twitter, facebook and text messaging have rendered me too lazy to ponder lately.
