Vacation's over. And real life resumes

I went to the library down the street and read books I couldn't take out. Fines, you know.

Part of enjoying being stuck in the same spot that you grew up in is remembering the things you loved to do before you discovered how much you were missing out on elsewhere. But these might be evidence that my dreams were always the same.

Look, childhood was so full of optimism and inspiration and ambition! Oh, now we've got recession and unwarranted self-satisfaction. I will waitress and intern forever.

There must still be hope. Does anyone need an editorial assistant? I hear there's even a market for bloggers.

"Ole Golly told me if I was going to be a writer I better write down everything.."
